What’s on in the Valley

The Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival is a celebration of Music, Dancing, Art and Craft held in Australia’s Most Beautiful Valley. Held over a long weekend in the third week in October the festival showcases local and international musicians performing traditional folk, bush ballads, blues, and contemporary compositions. The performances take place across multiple venues throughout the valley. Fun for the whole family is a strong focus for the festival as it offers several interactive events including jam sessions, instrumental workshops, poets’ breakfasts, dance classes and art and craft sessions. Arts in the Valley is focussed on promoting local artists and musicians. The program features regular and one-off events throughout the year culminating in a biennial Arts festival that brings together artists from throughout the region. The festival showcases visual arts and musical collaborations, including the Sculptures of the Valley competition, there is also a Farmer’s Market for all you food and wine connoisseurs.

Both Festival organisers also promote regular events throughout the year including Hausmusik which is a series of concerts in the lounge rooms of beautiful private homes in Kangaroo Valley. They are all, in their different ways, wonderful venues for these concerts. There is also the monthly River Music events held just 20mins away at North Nowra Golf Club.
